Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding software engineer and engineering lead with a passion in computer vision, software engineering, and data analytics to join Recorded Future’s Analytics Team within the R&D organization. You will join a group of talented engineers and data scientists who share a common interest in solving challenging analytical problems in large distributed systems with big data. The team's responsibilities include core parts of the analytics pipeline, such as data collection, analytics pipeline, framework, image processing, etc. We strive to turn our data into actionable intelligence and have fun.

You would get the chance to develop great analytics and software in a fast-moving environment close to our global clients and their needs. Together, we’ll improve our product to meet increasing demands while focusing on speed, scalability, and quality. You will also investigate and experiment with new technology and explore the most suitable solutions for solving real-world problems internally and with 3rd party solutions. You would join a dynamic team eager to take on new challenges and passionate about their work.

What you will be doing:

You will be instrumental in building and implementing our new pipeline for analyzing and processing images, videos, and speech-to-text that address clients’ use cases

  • Own and lead strategy and roadmap of the Image Analytics Product Team by creating continuity over 12 rolling months and 3 Horizons outline in close collaboration with a PO, PM, and Architect
  • Actively build prototypes and proof of concepts for selected investigations
  • Ensure that agreed investigations are naturally incorporated into the ongoing Product Team workload and an integral part of ongoing sprints
  • Be on a watch for the new technologies and services that will create value 
  • Work with the Product Leadership to identify, translate, and formulate business needs into tractable Computer Vision problems
  • Implement robust, scalable, and efficient solutions using the best software engineering and computer vision techniques in a Product Team
  • Take ownership and be proactive; you are an expert
  • Support Product Owner in managing actual implementation and deliverables within Sprints. Participate in Sprints actively by taking on actual assignments and hands-on development, taking on the Sprint Master role and actual engineering tickets
  • On daily abscess, Continue to bring the team together and manage work efficiency by prioritizing, parallelizing workload and activities, ensuring work is executed within the sprint plan, and eliminating wasted activities
  • Participate in selected releases in the lead developer role, support others or yourself design the solution, and write/lead solution document/design or actual development
  • Actively take on initiatives supporting Analytics Team development 

You will need the following:

  • MSc or preferably Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or a related technical field
  • Expert-level experience in image analysis and computer vision applications 
  • Implement and optimize analytics and machine learning algorithms using special-purpose computing architectures
  • Propose and implement creative, efficient solutions for image analysis and processing problems
  • Excellent knowledge of and experience with working with a variety of methods for analyzing image data, from classical to modern neural network-based methods
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and preferably other programming languages, especially Scala or Java
  • Ability to take the initiative and communicate/collaborate across teams both locally and globally 
  • English is a must
  • Demonstrated track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate technical solutions to research scientists, engineering teams, and business audiences
