Job Description

The Red Hat Product & Technologies group is expanding and we are looking for an enthusiastic Agile Practitioner intern to join our team. As an Agile Practitioner intern you will work closely with the best engineers in the open source community to create innovative technology for the next generation. In addition, an important part of this role is as coach and champion of Agile principles in the organization to facilitate the transition to Agile development.

What you will do

  • Facilitate team needs from running standup meetings, supporting planning by preparing agendas for Refinement & Planning Meetings, to tracking and reporting on appropriate team level metrics
  • Establish collaborative partnerships with team members and the organization to help them in their journey of adopting Agile methodology
  • Act as an Agile Practitioner for distributed teams, as needed, with a focus on coaching the team on Agile values and practices and encouraging them to continuously improve
  • Establish and support a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised
  • Support and educate the Product Owner and/or Product Manager, especially with respect to maintaining the product backlog
  • Facilitate getting work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating of work
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Introduce new ideas and processes which improve performance and productivity
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination through reaching out to the larger organization for impediment removal
  • Data Analysis and Data Science work is available if the skillset fits

What you will bring

  • Understand how to deliver software products to production using Agile & Lean methods
  • Understands Agile practices and able to clearly coach teams and programs at varying maturity levels
  • Data driven analysis skills for measuring and managing delivery
  • Facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to influence change at all levels
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be comfortable operating in rapidly changing environments
  • Experience with Jira is desired
  • Data Science skills are a plus
