Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing sustainable Linux and Cloud Native system software, integrating cutting-edge machine learning algorithms, and contributing to our open-source initiatives. They will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, developers, and solution architects to design and implement next-generation sustainable software solutions.

What you will do

• Design and develop Linux and Kubernetes system software and utilities.
• Integrate and optimize machine learning algorithms into our system solutions.
• Collaborate with team members to define software specifications and design solutions.
• Contribute to open-source projects in the open-source community.
• Ensure the robustness, performance, and scalability of the developed software.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in the fields of Linux systems and machine learning.
• What you will bring
• Proven experience in developing Linux, container, or Kubernetes system software.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and frameworks.
• Demonstrated contributions to open-source projects or communities.
• Strong programming skills in Golang, Python, or related languages.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

The following is considered a plus:

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field
• Publications or talks at recognized conferences related to Linux, Kubernetes, or machine learning.
• Active GitHub or GitLab profile showcasing relevant projects and contributions.

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
