One key feature of advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving is machine learning/artificial intelligence. We are looking for talented students who enjoy contributing to such systems and help us understand their limits.

We are developing algorithms which, based on camera, lidar and radar sensor data, can understand complex driving scenarios (e.g., crowded multi-lane highways, inner cities) and act accordingly. We are also working on monitoring what is happening inside the vehicle, e.g., which seats are occupied, and which persons are wearing their seatbelt correctly.

Your Role

• Support us in topics related to machine learning/artificial intelligence and their (unsupervised) evaluation.
• Process state-of-the-art sensor data from testing vehicles including Lidar, Radar and camera.
• Develop new ways to integrate the results of various algorithms, making the best out of the strengths of each system.

Your Background

• You are enrolled at a German University as a Bachelor student, and your studies are ideally related to machine learning/artificial intelligence -
• You are interested in statistical solutions for real-world problems.
• You have good programming skills in Python; experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, C/C++ or Rust would be a plus.
• You have good communication skills and fluently speak English; German skills would be a plus.
