The Portfolio Strategy Practice Line within Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Occupier Services Platform works with Global Occupier Services account teams and platform leaders to develop business and maintain long term client relationships. The practice line is affiliated with other consultative disciplines within Cushman & Wakefield, including: office, retail, and industrial site selection, workplace strategies, change management, and business incentive negotiations.

The Portfolio Strategy Practice Line within Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Occupier Services Platform is a growing area that has proven critical to winning, maintaining, and meeting the needs of large clients that require complex solutions to real estate-related challenges across industries. The team works with Cushman & Wakefield’s largest clients to design and build scalable solutions to improve service delivery and disrupt the stagnant tools and technology common in the real estate marketplace. This is done using best in class software such as Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI along with data sources from leaders such as Experian Marketing Solutions, Costar and our proprietary client databases. Our innovative strategies help clients make value-based decisions, effect meaningful change for their business and achieve quantifiable results.

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Director of Data Science, Spatial & Predictive Modeling to lead the development of unique innovative approaches to footprint optimization for a variety of client types including retail, quasi retail and industrial. You’re a great fit if you have experience partnering with business stakeholders to weave business objectives and internal data with 3rd party data to develop predictive or spatial models for action-oriented deployment.

This role requires broad knowledge of data science techniques and ability to adapt and expand successful analytical solutions to other areas as we work across a wide range of industries through a real estate lens. This is a highly visible position that will collaborate often with internal and external client senior management teams. We are looking for a proactive and creative candidate with strong written and oral communication skills and diverse subject matter expertise who values collaboration, integrity and our clients’ ultimate satisfaction with the services we provide.

Responsibilities:

  • Skilled at working with diverse stakeholders to quickly understand the key drivers of their business regardless of industry or product type
  • Manage the development of sophisticated predictive, spatial and network optimization models to support the solutioning of business problems
  • Expert at distilling complicated data science into plain language
  • Lead diverse project teams to ensure project success and effective team resource allocation while communicating with Senior team leaders
  • Lead efforts to drive scalable concepts and tools into the team’s core product kit
  • Leverage insights, collaboration and delivery to ensure that we are the industry leader in product innovation
  • Possess collaborative, inclusive, engaging, inquisitive, and creative demeanor
  • Actively participate in industry forums, conferences, and membership in key civic organizations

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 7-10 years progressive consulting and/or solution development experience required.
  • Advanced analytical skills and techniques, including deep statistical knowledge, big data knowledge, visualization, and data exploration. Experience with R/Python and/or Alteryx preferred.
  • Experience in the application of skills to develop a variety of different model types to generate action-oriented outputs foundational to long term client strategy.
  • Ability to handle large amounts of data, identify key information, and provide insightful recommendations to all levels within the organization with minimal direction.
  • Applicable understanding of commercial real estate practices preferred.
  • Superior understanding of business concepts and the ability to creatively apply these to varying client needs.
  • Ability to influence and manage clients using superior relationship building, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Quality engagement of clients, partners and prospects; maintain professional, positive, well-documented client communications.
  • Occasional travel for meetings, typically less than 15%.
