We are looking for a Senior Data Science Team Lead within our Data and Analytics Center of Excellence (COE). The mission of this team is to develop world-class data science, machine learning, and statistical solutions to extract insights and enable data driven decisions that improve our business and enhance customer experiences. Since we’re a COE, the team solves some of the most complicated problems and drives significant impact across the company for both our customers and the bottom line of a multibillion-dollar company. Some of our most recent work has focused on problems such as price optimization, cold start demand forecasting, drivers of customer loyalty, real-time personalization, and more. Responsibilities:

• Hire, mentor, coach, and lead members of the data science team.
• Engage with business partners and stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate them into data science solutions.
• Coordinate data science and data engineering resources to achieve business goals.
• Lead, contribute, and provide thought leadership on the end-to-end development and deployment of predictive and prescriptive models for marketing, sales, finance, supply chain, and other business applications.
• Explore large datasets using modeling, analysis, and visualization techniques.
• Apply Frequentist and Bayesian inference methodologies to experimental and observational data.
• Deliver presentations to senior business stakeholders that tell a cohesive and logical story using data.

Education:

• MS or PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field

Skills:

• 7+ years of experience applying data science, machine learning, and analytics techniques to business problems
• 2+ years of experience leading data science projects or teams
• A bias towards solving problems from a customer-centric lens and an intuitive sense for how the work aligns closely with business objectives
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Experience solving real-world problems with data at IoT scale using tools such as SQL, Spark, and Python
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Sagemaker, or similar tool stack
• Experience with and understanding of project management tools and principles
• Experience deploying machine learning models in enterprise systems
• Strong programming background with experience in Python
• Strong understanding of machine learning and statistical inference (including frequentist and Bayesian) concepts and techniques
