A key component of the New Business Model is the establishment of the three Service Lines: Media, Creative and Customer Experience (CXM).

The dentsu Media Service generates £1.6bn of revenue and delivers £16bn of media billings annually through its global agency network of 18,000 people in 57 locations.

The Media Service Line is currently undergoing activities to deliver brand optimisation, the simplification of the service delivery model and the associated organisational design in each of our markets as well as streamlining the cost to serve of the organisation; the overarching objective being profitable growth by enabling our people to deliver world-class services to our clients.

A major part of enabling this new business model in Media is the implementation of a dentsu proprietary technology and media platform. Working as part of the Media Operations team and in close collaboration with our technical team, this role will support the transformation efforts to drive consistency, efficiency, team engagement and client quality, through the application of design thinking, process reengineering and business readiness activities.

Role Purpose

The Media Platforms Data Management Manager will be responsible for managing and analysing media related master data information such as client, product, campaign, supplier and intercompany across the various media systems like local media system, and Media Ecosystem. The primary purpose of the role is to monitor, identify, measure, cleanse, govern and enhance data quality. The role will become proficient in the use of Semarchy as dentsu’s preferred MDM tool.

The role will be responsible for the maintenance of master data management processes to ensure the accuracy of the data entered and reported on into our media platforms. The role will carry out analysis to identify root cause for data issues and recommend processes and ways of governing the data to mitigate. They will perform project management activities to carry out data cleansing activities in a timely manner to deactivate clients and suppliers on a periodic basis to maintain and improve data quality. The role will support dentsu to build data quality awareness considering, consistency, completeness, accuracy, auditability and timeliness of the data quality to highlight a few key metrics. .

As a key input to data quality the role will be responsible for supporting data entry into our dentsu media platform (MES). This will be a key responsibility working with all three of our regional media platform implementation teams.

The role will be supported as part of a global team of Media Product and Technology experts and Media Operations Excellence expertise globally, together jointly responsible to move all our Media Service Line towards more common and standard platforms, tools, processes and ways of working.

The role will form part of the Media Service Line (SL) Media Operations Excellence team and work in conjunction with our Media Technology team. The Media Operations Excellence team supports 4 regions: EMEA, APAC, the Americas and Global (Global clients and overall Service Line improvement).

Key Responsibilities

  • Get familiarised with the overall dentsu strategy, transformation roadmap and how media technology advancements enable a new way of working and delivery of media
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Media technology landscape including the data flows involving the local media systems, D365 and global onboarding solution to be able to critically assess the operational and business change required to realise the value from our investments
  • Develop a deep understanding on the onboarding process with respect to clients, products, and suppliers and assist in the development of data definitions and business rules.
  • Implement policies and procedures for the day-to-day operational and administrative management of systems and data and establish procedures for detection and correction of data-quality issues and collaborate to establish policies, procedures, and internal controls affecting the quality of data.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data quality with respect to dentsu connect platform and other tools in the iERP framework
  • Build appropriate business cases to articulate problem statements clearly and justify benefits and ROI to ensure that appropriate projects are undertaken to address data quality issues.
  • Liaison between the technology functions and business groups and help identify ways to use data to drive enterprise objectives
  • Partner with Global MDM team to share insights/inputs based on the discussions and analysis around master data collected at local/regional level
  • Conduct periodic reviews with our market and functional teams to identify inaccurate or legacy data and take the required actions to deactivate/eliminate/rectify master records in order to avoid financial implications

Professional Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or related analytical field; or equivalent industry experience or combination of industry experience and related education.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data management, data governance, and/or a data stewardship role or equivalent responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of data profiling; understanding of data structures and relational database design preferred
  • Good understanding of fundamental business processes and the effect of data downstream
  • Passion for creating order and consistency with critical focus on high Data Quality standards and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated expert-level experience and capability with MS Excel, experience with SQL preferred.
  • Adept at developing cross-functional relationships and facilitating conversations to help uncover and resolve differences.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders (regional/local/global) and senior leaders on correct data approach.
  • Ability to help elevate the importance of data across the organization.
