Job Description
The Role:
This internship sits inside our People Operations team and focuses on the day-to-day systems that keep hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes running smoothly.
Right now, too much of this work is manual. Your job is to understand it, help us run it accurately, and make it less time-consuming, leaving more capacity for strategy.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll be doing real HR admin work, learning how People teams actually function, and improving processes that are used across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and issue employment letters, amendments, and other employee documents
- Update employee data in our HRIS (new hires, changes, terminations)
- Support visa and mobility paperwork with clear instructions and checklists
- Create internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and client-facing Job Aids to ensure our new automated workflows are scalable.
- Audit existing People Ops processes and flag where things are slow, confusing, or error-prone, then implement and test improvements
- Interview internal stakeholders across the business to understand pain points and design solutions that elevate the employee experience.
- Build templates, automations, vibe code tools to reduce repeat manual work
- Embrace Stretch Opportunities (The Fun Part!): As a GeoComply intern, expect to be pushed. You’ll be given special, high-value projects outside the immediate scope of your role, a chance to explore new skills, test your limits, and adapt to new challenges across the business.
A concrete project you might own:
- Take our employment letter process (currently manual and inconsistent)
- Map the steps, identify edge cases, and document risks
- Build a standardized template and automation that cuts creation time by 50–70%
- Roll it out and train the team / employees on using using it
What You’re Like:
- Educated: Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a degree in Human Resources, Arts, Business Administration, or a related field. Most importantly, you have a strong interest in the technical side of HR and People Ops.
- Organized: careful with details, and comfortable handling sensitive information.
- Efficient: You notice when you’re doing the same task repeatedly and look for a better way.
- Personable: You have a great attitude that makes you approachable, and you like collaboration. You communicate well, and ask questions early when something isn’t clear.
- Proficient: in Excel/Google Sheets and experience using AI for problem-solving (beyond basic prompting).
PLEASE NOTE: This role is best suited for someone who is intentionally exploring HR / People Operations as a career, not someone applying broadly to any internship.
