
Job Description
What you'll do here:
- Use your expertise to resolve complex problems and help your colleagues in doing the same by sharing your actuarial knowledge.
- Develop innovative solutions using machine learning and advanced statistics to solve business problems
- Keep pace with new approaches and trends and use them in your own solutions
- Work within a multi-disciplinary environment mixing people from data science, software engineering, actuarial science, business and design
- Collaborate efficiently with IFC teams in Canada and maintain highly engaged sponsors
- Validate the quality of the analytical approach and project outputs of the other team members
- Share domain expertise to support local recruits and deliverables satisfying a business need
- Coach local recruits on both technical matters and IFC values and success factors
- Work closely with our HK Data Lab’s management team to maintain the onboarding programs
What you bring to the table:
- Post-secondary education in Machine Learning, Data Science (or related field) or degree in Actuarial Science.
- Hands-on programming experience in languages such as Python is nice-to-have as well as knowledge of software engineering best practice.
- Familiarity with the underlying theory of machine learning (supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning) is an asset.
- The commitment to be a great, collaborative teammate.
- Unlimited curiosity and passion to challenge the status quo.
- Ability to focus on vaguely defined issues requiring the application of a creative approach.
- Candidates should be open-minded, adaptable and resilient.
- Strong communication, time management and work organization skills
