What you will be doing

The Lead AI Engineer will be a key technical member responsible for designing and implementing the platform & architecture that underpins our AI and ML modeling capabilities and integration with applications and data pipelines. This person will build & scale multiple models to retail platforms. 

The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA 

Main responsibilities

• Design and implement the AI technical roadmap, using appropriate tools and frameworks.

• Implement AI experimentation and observation platform for continuously improvement of AI models and experiences

• Work with a high-performing AI team, providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

• Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to build and maintain robust data pipelines

• Lead the design for robust AI infrastructure / AIOps, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of innovative AI solutions across various business domains.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize AI opportunities.

• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI research and translate them into practical applications for the company.

• Advocate for the ethical and responsible use of AI throughout the organization.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both technical and non-technical

The salary range is $ 157,900 to $ 181,600 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

What we are searching for 

• Experience in working on large scale AI systems.

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics or related fields

• 6+ years of experience in AI/Data Science and Machine Learning

• 10+ years' experience implementing Analytics solutions

• Strong academic credentials with publications in top-tier journals and conferences

• Background in one or more of the following areas: deep learning, information retrieval, knowledge graph, natural language processing, optimization

• Experience in building large scale AI models and systems

• Experience in large language models and deep neural network solutions

• Demonstrated ability to work with peers in engineering across teams to set technical directions

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Well-organized, detail oriented, great communication skills

• Strong ability to mentor, coach and train other engineers
