This position requires a professional with an understanding of the execution strategy of maintenance services business in the electrical energy storage sector. The primary objective of the Data Analyst role is to develop, establish, maintain Services team analytics and reporting across a APAC Services business unit. This role will additionally be responsible for supporting multiple facets of the business with data based inputs, insights and conclusions. This position may require close collaboration with Service Engineers, regional and global Fluence members. This position reports to the Services Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis on Services performance impacting metrics, identify areas for improvement and devise recommendation to optimize execution and actively assess risk on performance metrics.
- Understand the operating assets performance metrics and risks on guarantees, come up with active, proactive or predictive analysis and present findings through reports.
- Create and optimize Fluence data pipelines or sources. This involves assembling large, complex data sets that meet our customers’ diverse and evolving requirements.
- Create or maintain the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of sources using suitable query languages.
- Increase data visibility and automation. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: enhance data access and visibility, automate manual processes, optimize data delivery and design for scalability.
- Monitor Services deliverables by keeping track of submissions of mandatory reports, which includes but not limited to, service order reports, root cause analyses, monthly and annual reports to asset operations.
- Perform various integrity checks on Services online platforms, systems and various databases.
- Regular interaction with and support to the members of the Regional Services teams in APAC.
- Adheres to the high standards of health, safety and quality management required by the Fluence organisation and our customers.
- Actively contribute to the department and corporate KPIs.
- Proactively participate in business improvement projects.
Experience & Qualifications
- Solid experience in data analytics role for at least 3years and understands the energy systems response as per grid or operator’s requirements.
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL, other reporting platforms and experience working with relational databases, query authoring, optimization and familiarity
- with a variety of databases.
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, both with bare metal and cloud services.
- Knowledge needed manage and process large amounts of time series data, including real-time processing, analytics, machine learning data set creation, and retrieval systems for archived data.
- Awareness of modern clustering, containerization, services, and serverless architectures.
- Communication skills to explain recommendations from complex data analysis to teammates, colleagues, and leadership.
- Knowledge of basic Linux system administration concepts—working with the command line and operating system resource management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Agile and assertive in providing options and taking decisions in instances that requires immediate yet non-critical with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
- Highly motivated, organized, and a self-starter with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrable ability working in a high-performance team within a virtual,
- matrixed, global organisation.
- Willingness to travel as needed to project sites and customer locations.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, other technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Advanced Excel modelling to include macros/vba, SQL data management and Statistical analysis are critical technical skills for this role.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently at varied stages of development while effectively communicating status, timeline and any risk.
- Must possess a customer service mindset and a desire to take on tough and challenging projects.
Proven experience with the following technology:
- Relational and non-relational databases, including expertise in Postgres,
- MariaDB, Snowflake, or Presto/Athena.
- Standard industry data formats such as CSV, Parquet, Avro, etc.
- AWS cloud services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and Fargate.
- Batched and real-time data stream-processing systems.
- Automation and scripting using Python
- Strong knowledge and familiarity with operating the following platforms:
- Microsoft programs (Word, Visio, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Outlook, etc)
- SalesForce
- PowerBI or Incorta
- Atlassian, Jira
- Sharepoint
