Job Description

The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Major Responsibility 

• Work in different stages of the software development life cycle on tasks such as requirement elaboration, architecture design, feature implementation and testing with strong sense of ownership, such as MES system
• Deliver high-quality code, focusing on simplicity, performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Continuously study and research new technologies to improve productivity and provide best solution to customers.
• Propose problem solving solution in manufacturing system or application development areas.
• Monitor service level and take the initiative to look for ways to continuously improve IT system effectiveness.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Education & Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years’ working experience in software development.
• Experienced in manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experienced in machine learning is preferred.

Required Competency (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities)

• Proficient in C#/VB.net and WCF.
• Solid experience in .Net MVC and MVVM.
• Familiar with Front-End Technology.
• Familiar with SQL/Oracle database programming.
• Strong skill of trouble shooting in complex system-level debugging.
• Good understanding of OOP and multi-thread.
• Good communication skill and teamwork.
• Workable English communication skill, both in written and oral.
