Job Description

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to become an industry-leading, one-stop optical solutions provider, spanning the broader communications industry. This segment is categorized into two main product groups: Carrier Network and Enterprise Network. The Carrier Network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for fiber optic communications infrastructures for services such as video, data and voice communications. The Enterprise Network product group consists primarily of fiber optic communication networks targeting businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position.

Responsible for managing and maintaining data systems, ensuring data integrity, and providing support for data-related tasks and projects. The role involves working with databases, dashboards, data analysis tools, and various software applications to help organizations make informed decisions based on accurate and reliable data.

Mention the major responsibilities and tasks of the position.

• Collect, clean and organize data from various sources
• Maintain and update databases and data systems
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing regarular audits and validation checks
• Analyze data to indetify trends, patterns, and insight
• Create reports, dashboards and visualizatios to present data finding to plant leadership and engineers
• Assist in the development and implementation of data analysis methodologies and tools
• Integrate data from different sources into a cohesive and unified system
• Work with IT and controls teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration across platforms
• Provide technical support for data-related issues and queries
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations
• Work closely with plant departments to support data-driven projects
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide appropriate solutions

Skill Requirements.

Education.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science or a related engineering field

Work Experience.

• 0-2 years of experience in similar position
• Experience in working with data
• Excellent math skills – Ability to apply mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI or similar)
• Programming language expertise such as python, java, or similar
• Knowledge of Data Engineering Tools such as AWS, or similar

 Additional Skills.

• Fully bilingual is preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to deliver under tight deadlines and handle multiple/ detail-oriented tasks
• Experience with problem solving tools
• Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation
• Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, independent, flexible, quick learner
• Great teamwork skills
