Job Description

The Data Analytics (DA) team in thw Characterization and Analytics Group provides big data analytics support with machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities for all R&D engineering functional teams in the Recording Head Technology organization.

About the role - you will:

• Develop a framework for a streamlined big data insight process that covers ETL, model development, and model deployment under production environment
• Work closely with R&D engineering subject matter experts to develop data analytics pipelines, workflows, processes and applications

About you:

• Passionate about big data with AI/ML applications
• Ability to work independently with proven problem-solving skills and an out-of-box thinking mindset is highly desirable
• Good communication and R&D teamwork skills needed in collaborative cross-functional team environment

• Proficiency in English writing/speaking/presentation

Your experience includes:

• Newly graduated PhD degree, Bachelor's or Master’s degree with related experience. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics are preferred
• Knowledge and experience with Python-based big data (log data, image data, time series data and tabulated data) pipelines, processes, data application and visualization
• Experience with database query (Oracle SQL, MySQL)

• Experience with data science & machine learning python programming, model development
• Experience with JMP-based data analysis and applications is a plus
• Experience with API microservice architecture, docker, and Kubernetes is highly desirable

• Experience with Linux OS, terminal command lines and data pipeline backend is a plus
• Development of web user interface and backend service
