Beckman Coulter’s Urinalysis is seeking a lead machine learning Engineer to ensure the team organizes to delivers high quality deliverables.

The position Lead Machine Learning Engineer, reports to the Beckman Coulter Diagnostics Manager, with the primary responsibility to design, develop, and deploy machine learning solutions for the Urinalysis product line. The incumbent will collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to identify innovative machine solutions that leverage large amounts of data. The incumbent ensures ml infrastructure and data pipelines are structured for easy deployment for the diagnostics products.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Designs and develops scalable solutions that leverage machine learning and deep learning models to meet enterprise requirements
  • Works closely with data scientists and data engineers to develop machine learning algorithms
  • Understands and translates business and functional needs into machine learning problem statements
  • Translates machine learning algorithms into production-level code
  • Creates metrics to continuously evaluate the performance of machine learning solutions
  • Maintains and improves the performance of existing machine learning solutions
  • Ensures adherence to performance standards and compliance to data security requirements
  • Keeps abreast with new tools, algorithms and techniques in machine learning and works to implement them in the organization.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and work effectively with colleagues and experts from a diagnostics background.
  • Participate as a technical lead for software and product features development.
  • Organizational and self-management skills.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science or a related field with 7+ years of proven experience in Machine learning and deep learning model development
  • Experienced Data Scientists with a thorough understanding of modern AI, especially Deep Learning for computer vision.
  • Profound experience in training, refining, and deploying computer vision models for production environments.
  • Mastery in Python and deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch and Keras-tensorflow.
  • Solid Experience in developing and deploying enterprise-scale machine learning solutions.
  • Proficiency in machine learning algorithms such as multi-class classifications, decision trees, support vector machines would be plus.
  • Proven Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Matplotlib and Seaborn.
  • Experience with cloud computing, including AWS/Azure and version control systems such as Git.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Extensive Experience with image classification and OpenCV, computer vision Algorithm development would be a plus
  • Understanding of the invitro diagnostics domain is valuable for problem understanding and interacting with experts.
