Job Description

As a circuit design engineer intern, you will be participating with R&D activities in high-speed wireline and optical interfaces using fundamental analog circuit techniques and communication theories, for circuits operating with speed from 32Gbps to 224Gbps. You will be reporting directly to the Director of Advanced Data Converters Department in San Jose, CA. We are currently operating in a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in office.

This Internship Program is open to students currently enrolled in a degree-seeking University that will be graduating with their MS/PhD in the next 1-2 years. The Summer 2024 internship will begin in May 2024 and continue through at least August 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research and development work to evaluate PPA of circuit-level novelties and tapeout
  • Work with multifunctional teams which include colleagues with expertise in device, circuit, architecture
  • Engage with university and industry partners on exploratory research topics
  • Convert results of innovative works into patents and publications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently working towards a MS/PhD degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • Solid background in circuit design, preferably memory circuit or AI accelerator

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in high-speed circuit schematic and layout for wireline and optical circuit applications
  • Experience using field solvers, like HFSS, CST among others
  • Basic understanding of digital calibration, DSP
  • Knowledge of communication channel analysis
  • Knowledge in AI is a strong plus
