What you'll do

You will be part of the team that is optimizing the quality-of-experience (QoE) delivered to our customers via our global satellite network. We develop services that assess QoE and that automate the allocation of network resources so as to optimize QoE outcomes.

By optimizing how we allocate capacity, we can enhance the value that we get from the billions of dollars we have invested in our satellite network while improving customer experience. As a member of our team, you will develop predictive models that estimate the amount of network capacity required to achieve target QoE.

Our team is comprised of systems, ML, and traffic management domain experts, most of whom have advanced degrees.

The day-to-day

• Work with large data sets
• Create ML models in the AWS Sagemaker environment
• Develop techniques to validate and improve your models
• Effectively wrangle data, identify inconsistencies, and clean large amounts of data using software tools

What you'll need

• Currently pursuing Master's degree or higher in engineering/computer science, preferably a last semester ML engineering candidate or 2nd+ year PhD computer science candidate
• Strong foundation in mathematics and statistics, including an understanding of linear algebra

• Experience with machine learning algorithms: Knowledge of and experience with various machine learning techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, support vector machines, and neural networks

• Programming skills: Strong programming skills in a language like Python that can be used for data cleaning, preparation, and modeling are needed

• Experience with data manipulation and analysis

Salary range

$21 - $66 / hourly

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
