WHAT'S THE ROLE?

In this role you will develop and apply machine learning algorithms and models to various construction tools, processes, and datasets to extract insights and inferences for real-world applications. By uncovering patterns and inferences you will contribute to the research strategy and long-term product design choices.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

In this role you will come to understand a wide range of construction processes and data challenges within Hilti and the construction industry. By brining your insights into how you can apply various machine learning techniques, you will set up and execute projects while working in a machine learning team.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and develop machine learning models for various construction processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and address critical construction challenges.
• Analyse large datasets, develop algorithms, and build predictive models to improve construction efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
• Conduct experiments and perform testing to validate machine learning models and algorithms.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and construction technologies and apply them to improve our processes and products.
• Write technical reports, research papers, and documentation to communicate research findings and outcomes to stakeholders.

WHAT YOU NEED IS:

• A PhD or Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and programming languages (Python, R, C++ etc.)
• Experience in working with large datasets and data preprocessing
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills to succeed in a collaborative environment with multiple parties
• Fluency in spoken and written English
