WHAT'S THE ROLE?

In this role you will guide and expand the Machine Learning Program within Hilti’s research community. By applying your expert knowledge and experience, you will help form an ongoing strategy on developing and testing machine learning models for construction processes and application.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

In this role you will apply your machine learning insights to construction processes and data challenges within Hilti and the construction industry. You will help define research project roadmaps and strategies, provide technical advice on research questions, and guide the creation and execution of research projects within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Guide machine learning projects from ideation to feasibility
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and create solutions using machine learning technologies in various construction applications
• Manage program goals and roadmaps, and advise on schedules and resources to ensure successful project delivery
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and construction technologies and apply them to improve our processes and products
• Write technical reports, research papers, and documentation to communicate research findings and outcomes to stakeholders

WHAT YOU NEED IS:

• A PhD or Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine learning, data science, or related fields with strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, deep learning, and natural language processing
• Experience in working with large datasets and data preprocessing
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to provide technical leadership in a team environment
• Project management experience, preferably in a research environment
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
