Job Description

Paying a credit card or an auto finance bill is one of the most fundamental customer moments. There are many factors to it, including the channel that the customer chooses to pay in (through the Capital One mobile app or desktop website, through an agent, in a branch or in store, and more), as well as all the technology behind the scenes to power it (to validate, schedule, post and clear the payment). Given the impact that a payment decision has on a customer’s financial health and the emotions inherently tied to it, plus the rapidly changing technological and regulatory landscape, payments is an area with ample opportunity for us to Change Banking for Good.

As a Product Manager on the Payments team, you will lead 1 backend tech team to deliver against a strategic, high visibility agenda to enable payments for revolving and non revolving credit products. Responsibilities include:

• Working closely with internal stakeholders to define a product vision

• Establishing key performance indicators

• Developing a technology roadmap and socializing it broadly with partners and stakeholders

• Leading your tech team through agile ceremonies such as PI and sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives

• Partnering with cross-functional teams (analytics, engineering, operations, finance and risk) to deliver well-managed and extensible features that bring that vision to life

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

• At least 3 years of product management experience or at least 3 years of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

• MBA or Master’s degree

• 2+ years of experience in Agile product management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City:

$163,300 - $186,400 for Manager, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
