The Investment Risk Data and Analytics team plays a pivotal role in developing the data solutions for Investment Risk. The team provides data insights by developing investment risk analytics and data visualizations. If you enjoy working with complex data from multiple sources, collaborating with investment risk managers to develop solutions, and enjoy working in fast paced environment, this role could be a great fit for you.

What is the Senior Investment Risk Analyst responsible for?

Provide expert level knowledge of data from various data sources– portfolio holdings, security master, market data and risk analytics from providers like Barra, Bloomberg PORT, FactSet, etc. This role requires influencing and collaborating with investment risk managers to understand use cases and their risk analytics needs.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Investment Risk Analyst?

  • Envisions and develops investment risk analytic dashboards, data science models to enable risk oversight for risk managers
  • Plan and onboard new datasets by working with middle office teams and data engineers
  • Monitor the overall data quality in the data platform by envisioning traditional and ML based data quality checks

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Finance
  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience in similar role
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, risk management, portfolio management or investment research
  • Experience with working with big data, data science model development, and dashboards
  • Ability to strategize, multi-task, and adapt quickly

What technology skill sets are critical to the success of this role?

  • Strong database skills – Snowflake, SQL, DBT
  • Experience with Python, Power BI, Databricks

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $140,000 and $160,000.
