We are seeking a Data and Machine Learning Engineer Senior Specialist (AWS, Python) who will design, develop and/or sustain applications for our Enterprise Data Technology team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership on sophisticated applications, programming, and integration projects, and to contribute to our ongoing development in an AWS-based Data Lake. You will work closely with and provide design specifications to Database Administration, Data Architects and Data Scientists to optimize overall design.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain an enterprise data ecosystem including ingestion, storage, organization, and interface.
• Analyze the business and technical requirements for data systems and applications; Coordinate the integration of IT policies, procedures, and development practices.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Research emerging ML technology, applications, and integration frameworks to continuously improve the ML engineering practices.
• Lead in an Agile environment to assist the team in scope, estimate, and schedule project work
• Mentor junior developers by both leading by example and coaching

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field of study, or equivalent relevant work experience
• Able to develop business, technical, and application design
• Crafting, deploying, and supporting production cloud services including serverless, orchestration, IAC, information security in AWS ecosystem
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in object or functional programming languages – Java, Python
• 5+ years of proven experience with AWS services including CFT, S3, Lambda, IAM, EMR, and KMS
• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience implementing data pipelines via methods such as ETL, ELT, EL/TL, DaaS, Data Lake, or ODS
• 5+ years confirmed experience using SDLC and Agile
• 5+ years of experience with RDBMS Technologies such as MySQL, Postgres, and MSSQL
• 5+ years of ESB/Messaging/Integration tools such as Kafka or SQS
• Consistent track record of leading and mentoring in a multi-functional collaborative team environment including varied business units, vendors, countries, and cultures

Desired Experience:

• Architecture – Event Driven Design, APIs, Micro services, stateless/chaos
• Experience with advanced analytics tools and languages such as R, Python, Java, SAS, and others
• Test automation design and implementation experience
• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, TSQL, SSIS, or Matillion
• 1+ years of data visualization with tools such as Tableau, or QuickSight
• Experience in working with financial product datasets
• Experience working in a SSAE 16 or similar level of controls environment
• DevOps experience with Git, build, artifact/package management, and deploy automation.
• Experience in data modeling, schema design/development, and dimensional modeling, preferred
• AWS Certification and/or TOGAF Certification, preferred
• Experience designing, deploying, and supporting production cloud services in AWS ecosystem including EC2, Kinesis, ECS, ELB, preferred
