Job Description

In this role, you will lead the data and analytics team supporting Cigna Supplemental Benefits (CSB), a dynamic and integral component of Cigna Healthcare’s growing Medicare business. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of CSB and serving as a member of the CSB Extended Leadership team, you will own the development and execution of data/analytics platforms and capabilities for both the CSB Finance organization and the broader business. You will work closely with colleagues across the business to identify and deliver on key analytics needs and to produce significant value-added insights. You will be responsible for fostering a growing culture within CSB around data and analytics. You will set standards for your team to enable rigorous analytical thinking, consultative partnerships, and clear, effective communication. You will balance multiple stakeholder requests concurrently and act as a trusted partner/leader across the CSB business. You will grow and develop a talented team of analytics professionals. You excel at translating complex, technical analyses into simple findings and communicating those findings to business partners. You set high standards for your team and strive to foster a collaborative and growth mindset. You possess a leadership mentality with a curious and innovative spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prioritize and execute the portfolio of data/analytic work products for Cigna Supplemental Benefits (CSB)

• Consult with CSB CFO and key stakeholders across the CSB business to understand their priorities and determine fit and timing within the work product portfolio

• Support the CSB Finance team with data, reporting, and insights to drive deeper understanding of medical cost trend, support pricing actions, and inform financial forecasting

• Deliver analyses to support CSB business decisions and recommend future action on a wide variety of topics (e.g. customer behavior and profitability, marketing campaigns, product features, underwriting, etc.)

• Develop clear and thoughtful materials to communicate results/recommendations to business partners

• Manage and improve underlying/structural data sources to better enable long-term analytics capabilities

Build strong relationships with CSB leadership and become a trusted consultative partner for analytics

Manage and develop a team of direct reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher with a quantitative focus (e.g. mathematics, statistics, data science, business, MIS, actuarial science, finance, etc.)

• 6+ years of healthcare cost analytics, actuarial and/or financial analytics experience

• Proven track record of extracting meaningful insights from large and complex data sets

• Demonstrated experience working with non-technical business partners in consultative manner

• Strong communication skills (e.g. experience translating complex analyses into easy-to-follow slides/materials)

• Demonstrated leadership ability in a matrix environment

• Prior managerial experience

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 124,000 - 206,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
