About the team + role

Robinhood operates at the intersection of data-driven insights and technological innovation. As a Senior ML Engineer, you will aid ML engineers in identifying and deploying critical models that bolster predictability across Robinhood businesses, products, and operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in crafting a highly reliable and scalable infrastructure, making the deployment of ML and Gen AI effortless for all enthusiasts.

We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious individual to accelerate the development and expansion of products powered by Gen AI and ML. In this role, you'll play a key part in Robinhood’s forward trajectory, collaborating closely with our adept Data Science and Engineering teams. The ML Platform team is devoted to bridging the transition of Gen AI & ML modeling work into production-grade applications, by providing a robust and scalable platform-as-a-service. This initiative is geared towards accelerating AI & ML integration, ensuring a seamless meld into the Robinhood infrastructure, and guaranteeing reliable product launches.

What you’ll do

• Rapidly implement high-impact projects with meticulous planning, ensuring quality work within remarkable timeframes.
• Demonstrate technical leadership by providing guidance and expertise to the ML Platform team and fostering collaboration across Data Science and Engineering domains.
• Enhance the quality of Robinhood's products and engineering practices by refining critical metrics and establishing processes for continuous improvement.
• Engage with technical leaders to refine and elevate Robinhood's AI/ML modeling methodologies and systems for efficient product development.
• Drive the development to deployment of cross functional AI/ML products with exemplary coding and system design skills, ensuring technical excellence.
• Lead the charge in independently steering AI and ML projects from conception to successful completion, embodying a spirit of innovation and excellence.

What you bring

• 3+ years of hands-on involvement in top-tier ML platform, ML Ops, or ML infrastructure projects.
• Shown expertise in working with Large Language Models (LLM) or Generative AI (GenAI).
• A fervent interest in exploring and applying AI and ML technologies.
• Strive to solve sophisticated engineering problems that drive business objectives.
• Solid technical foundation enabling active contribution to the design and execution of projects and ideas.
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks of large, distributed, and high-scale ML applications.
• Practical experience with ML products like personalization, search relevance, ranking, or advertisement targeting; ML infrastructure services like feature store, distributed training platform, and real-time inferencing service.
• Proficiency in Python, Golang, Redis, DynamoDB, k8s, PyTorch, or TensorFlow2.
• Ideally you have experience in the Finance sector.
• Experience with Spark, Kafka, and Flink is also desirable.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$187,000—$220,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$165,000—$194,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL)

$146,000—$172,000 USD
