Bumble Inc. is seeking an Analytics Manager who will lead and work alongside a team of analysts to partner with business stakeholders across revenue management to take an integrated ecosystem approach and support critical business decisions across all our apps. This is a unique opportunity for an emerging analytics leader who enjoys the fast-paced environment of a growing company, has experience in tech analytics, and has a passion to lead a team helping the Bumble Inc. mission to foster kind connections.

You would ideally have a background in analytics at either a dating, social, gaming, or other relevant tech company, with proven experience in driving commercial impact through applying analytics to critical business problems.

You bring the experience of working with complex sources of revenue, payments, and behavioral data and use that knowledge to partner with stakeholders and senior leaders, taking a holistic approach to find answers. You are comfortable challenging priorities and clearly communicating analytical roadmaps.

You enjoy developing and leading a team of multi-skilled analysts to efficiently produce insights that inform decision-making as well as provide support for an extensive experimentation program. Passionate about continual improvement, both personally and for the team, you always look for feedback to strive for higher-quality of deliverables.

You understand the high-level business model of the company and the primary drivers and output metrics to efficiently receive a stakeholder request, draft a project/insights brief and proactively ask for additional scope clarity where necessary.

Remaining laser-focused on the so what of the findings and how the insights support business decisions, you take an integrated perspective to analytics and consider all the potential drivers to a problem, reviewing existing knowledge and bringing in expertise and advice from other teams. You’re able to effectively balance demands for both tactical and strategic work and also have experience managing skillsets across analytics engineering and data science.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead a team of talented analysts; setting impactful priorities for the team with minimal guidance.
  • Guide on techniques and ways of working and build a culture of critical thinking, commercial acumen and disciplined execution in alignment with senior management.
  • Oversee team performance, ensuring that all work produced by the analytics team is of a high quality, produced in a timely manner and is actionable.
  • Grow and mentor your team, energising and inspiring them, and raising the bar on talent and performance. Support senior leadership with hiring and retention initiatives.
  • Provide insightful feedback on strengths, development needs and practical ways to develop to direct reports, mentees and peers.
  • Understand the broader dating industry and emerging trends to act as a thought partner.
  • Provide regular IC support, always looking to lean into this area to support the team and stakeholders across multiple skillsets.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner as the analytical authority in your domain.
  • Build and deliver analytical roadmaps to support the longer term vision of revenue management within the business.
  • Deepen knowledge and insights on the revenue domain, becoming the authority on its characteristics, drivers and sub systems. Proactively educates stakeholder functions to further democratise this understanding.
  • Acts as a practice leader, actively upskilling brand teams on best practice across the domain.
  • Own data quality as it relates to the domain, proactively working with Data and Analytics Eng. and other teams to improve data collection and modelling.
  • Build and manage self-serve data products, a knowledge base of insights, and provide direct support, to empower others to fully understand the value of data in their day-to-day work.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Preference for a graduate degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Information Sciences, Economics, Finance.
  • Preference for experience working in similar dating/social/gaming tech product industries.
  • Preference for experience in leading analytics teams, working in a fast-paced environment or an established IC looking to make the next move into management.
  • Experience in Pricing/Promotions/Monetisation Analytics with strong commercial acumen and an understanding of the importance of data analytics to support and drive decision-making.
  • Experience providing thought leadership to business leaders: identifying issues and opportunities, translating business problems into analytical diagnoses and delivering insights that answer the most pressing questions.
  • Familiarity across a spectrum of analytical tools (e.g. dbt, visualisation tools, notebooks etc)
