Job Description

The position will provide actuarial support & expertise for SCOR’s treaty portfolio with a focus on Motor.The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed treaty pricing analysis and communicating the results with the underwriting team, help to maintain and develop pricing tools and assumptions, and assist with both local and global projects. The job will require significant interaction with several internal & external stakeholders: underwriters, actuaries, reserving, claims, management and brokers so as to leverage & share knowledge as appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Timely, in depth, well documented and communicated pricing analyses.
  • Contribute to line of business studies, in particular Motor.
  • Participate in treaty projects & portfolio analytics.
  • Liaise effectively and efficiently with SCOR colleagues: underwriting, nat cat, reserving, capital, claims, finance & global pricing.
  • Contribute to Lloyd’s capital provision pricings and projects.
  • Keep current with data science initiatives.
  • Management & development of colleagues both technically and professionally.
  • Interact with clients regularly, building & enhancing relationships.
  • Enhance the market reputation of SCOR.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Required experience & competencies.

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in a General Insurance actuarial pricing role; consultancy or company – ideally experience with UK Motor.

Personal Competences:

  • Good communication and presentation skills. Actively seeks to communicate with the underwriters, actuarial pricing teams and management.
  • Stays up-to-date with new/emerging knowledge in actuarial pricing as well as in respect of major market and underwriting related issues.
  • Shares know-how and technical knowledge with team members (locally and globally). 
  • Ensures co-operative spirit and energizes others by showing pride to be part of the team.

Digital Competencies:

  • Extensive experience of working with Microsoft Office applications
  • Interest in data science with preference given to programming capability and experience of Python, SQL or VBA.

Educational Requirements

  • Qualification or equivalency from a recognized actuarial organization (or actively studying towards a qualification)
  • Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, other scientific discipline (statistics, physics, engineering etc.) or equivalence
