Job Description

The Director of Data Services will be responsible for all operational and strategic aspects of data management for the Canteen business sector. The ideal person for this role is an individual that can develop and execute an innovative data strategy; build partnerships throughout Compass Technology as well as external partners; and effectively influence and educate at different levels of leadership translating data-speak to tangible outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a long-term strategy for Canteen data and analytics ecosystems including advanced technologies like machine learning and AI.
• Define and deliver new analytics standards and methods.
• Accountable for high volume operational and analytical data platforms.
• Partner with business stakeholders and data scientists to identify opportunities for applying data and analytical solutions to improve our business.
• Develop and maintain a highly effective team that can innovate, influence, and deliver impactful solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor for Canteen leadership on data and analytics.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree within Technology field.
• Holistic and business-oriented individual who focuses on the efficiency in modeling concise and lean business practices and operations.
• 10+ years’ experience establishing data and/or analytic standards within a complex organization preferred.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
• Experience in large, enterprise data environments that leverage services such as Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, AWS S3, Lambda, Glue, AWS DMS, Fivetran, and DPT
• Experience with enterprise-level integrations with external or internal systems
• Experience in driving software development best practices around code management, builds, deployments, and general automation of operational tasks.
