This is Operations AI

Adyen seeks a Data Scientist to join our Operations AI team in Madrid. This team is part of Adyen's Data Solution strategy to enhance operations efficiency and improve customer experience through AI and automation. Operations AI is a new team based in Madrid; we're looking for trailblazers with an entrepreneurial mindset to innovate, tinker and craft something entirely new from the ground up.

Are you a fan of open-source Python libraries like HuggingFace and Langchain? Are you intrigued by the potential of models like Falcon, Llama, Dolly and the capabilities of GPT-4 with OpenAI API? This opportunity is what you're looking for.

Within our team, you'll tackle innovative, high-impact business use cases. These include developing case routing for support tickets to precisely match support agents with issues using machine learning classifiers and NLP. You'll also work on Question-Answering retrieval from an internal knowledge base of documents, text summarization, and sentiment analysis.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with the team to build machine learning models or fine-tune LLMs for downstream tasks such as ticket routing (text classification), sentiment analysis, and question-answer retrieval, mainly utilizing open-source technology and libraries.
• Ensure efficient data preprocessing and ETL pipelines to create features that feed machine learning algorithms during training.
• Set up experiments to adjust modeling decisions, perform exploratory analysis, tune hyperparameters, or validate hypothesis selection for the right metric set for each business problem. Report metrics and monitor performance to keep stakeholders updated and ensure a smooth model deployment in production.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in NLP and LLMs and integrate relevant findings into our system.

Who you are:

• You have 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist.
• Proven expertise in developing, training, and deploying machine learning models, especially in the Natural Language Processing domain.
• Extensive knowledge of machine learning algorithms, including a deep understanding of statistical modeling, and Python development tooling and libraries: Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, Pytest, PySpark, SQL, Airflow, MLflow, HuggingFace Transformers, Tensorflow or Pytorch.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools.
• Adherence to coding best practices, including code reusability, documentation, and testing.
• An analytical thinker with a knack for understanding operational requirements and converting them into actionable ML solutions.
• Proactively taking the lead in projects, from ideation to deployment, while ensuring stakeholder collaboration.
• We appreciate a forward-thinking mindset driven by experimentation and iterative development. A solid foundation in statistics and mathematics will serve you well in this role.
• Experience or some exposure to LLMs, either using Open AI API or Open Source models and frameworks like Huggingface, Langchain, Llama-2, Falcon, Dolly, etc., is a plus.
