Job Description

The Role 

As a Product Manager at PLS, you will leverage your expertise in biology, investment, and technology, with deep expertise in AI, to develop an enterprise-wide portfolio of interconnected systems and products that support data-driven decision-making in life sciences investments. Your role will blend artificial intelligence, investment, life sciences, technical, and product management expertise to propel our transformation journey from data checking decisions to data making decisions. 

In this role, you will: 

• Develop and manage a cutting-edge AI platform comprising component products that use biological, clinical, financial, people, and company data to provide relevant, actionable insights and predictions for investors 
• Collaborate with Data Science and Investment teams to understand what metrics/information would be most useful to uncovering insights and building or incorporating relevant AI models to accelerate meeting investment goals 
• Execute product management principles, including: 

• Understanding and representing user needs 

• Monitoring market trends and conducting competitive analyses 
• Defining product vision 
• Aligning stakeholders around product vision 
• Prioritizing product features and capabilities 

• Apply world-class product management skills to ensure ease of use and adoption across different teams within the organization 

• Exhibit business savviness and stakeholder management skills to juggle against multiple, often competing priorities, to deliver maximum value 
• Utilize storytelling and data visualization skills to enhance data value and enable investment teams to interact with data to enhance their existing processes and motivate cultural shift towards AI and technology more broadly 
• Extract stories and insights from data for various levels of seniority, from business analysts to C-level executives 
• Stay abreast of emerging business intelligence trends, AI technologies, tools, and approaches 

• Plan the continuous evolution of products to increase sophistication and answer new business questions while maintaining simplicity 

Competencies 

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Product Management - working within AI, analytics, life sciences, data, high tech, investment 
• Experience working within an Agile product management environment. 

• Familiarity with data engineering pipeline / ETL processes 
• Experience with Machine Learning and/or AI is a considerable plus 
• Comfortable assessing financial impact and writing recommendations + delivering presentations for large audiences 
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a quantitative field of study (e.g., Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Economics)
• Authorized to work in the US without employer immigration sponsorship 

Additional Information 

Salary range: $140,000-190,000

Hybrid work schedule: In person 3 days/week (M/W/Th), San Francisco Headquarters
