Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Engineers or other stakeholders to identify key metrics and opportunities for improving business processes, products, and services
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes
  • Build, deploy, and maintain data management systems and back-end data infrastructure for business intelligence pipeline
  • Assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods
  • Perform data mining, exploration, and analysis 
  • Create data visualizations, reports, dashboards, and data audits
  • Design, train, and implement machine learning algorithms
  • Leverage predictive models to optimize customer experiences
  • Creating automated anomaly detection

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, data analytics, or related field
  • Highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field, such as statistics, computer science, mathematics, or engineering
  • Experience in developing models and algorithms using Python
  • Experience with databases like SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB etc. for handling large data sets as well as experience working with statistical analyses, data washing and statistical filtering
  • Experience with version control tools Git / GitHub
  • Knowledge of data science toolkits such as R, NumPy, and MatLab
  • Expertise in data mining and machine learning
  • Working knowledge of statistical models and business intelligence
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure
  • Ability to store and process unstructured data with NoSQL databases and machine learning models
  • Experience with big data analytics technologies such as Spark and Hadoop
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as D3.js and Tableau

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business acumen and client facing experience will be a plus
  • Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc.
  • Good scripting and programming skills 
  • Experience using web services: Redshift, S3, Spark, DigitalOcean, etc.
  • Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, etc.

  • Certified Data Scientist Certification
