Role Description

Reporting to the Director, Reporting Solutions, the objective of the Data Operations Manager - Business Analysis role is to support the Global Data, Tech and Tools (DTT) team and their overarching goal of automating media data delivery to Amazon stakedholders. This person will be responsible for conducting analysis on the tools and the processes used for manual data collection so that workstreams can be automated. This role is both operationally and analytically focused so attention to detail is a key prerequisite. The position will work with various markets across multiple groups including investment, analytics, technology, as well as others to ensure that the Product leader and Engineers have the details required to build automation pipelines. As a technical resource, the position will be responsible for knowing the logic and models used to build our data pipeline and will be able to communicate effectively with people of varying technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with stakeholders in local countries to gather requirements and information relative to systems, tools, and processes
  • Perform gap analysis on existing systems, tools, and processes in context of automation requirements and the onboarding of new data
  • Coordinate with Product and Engineering resources to define solutions to overcome data gaps
  • Analyze sample datasets to ensure full understanding of how data is organized and appropriate requirements for build and test scenarios.
  • Provide inputs needed by Product Manager so that effective stories and supporting documentation is available to Engineers and they are prepared to plan and build automated pipelines and associated components.
  • Communicate requirements, logic and data model specifics as needed
  • Act as SME on datasets

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience managing media data or similar role:
  • Strong understanding of managing the full data lifecycle,
  • Understanding of the interaction between data flows and business processes data and how upstream actions impact downstream quality
  • Proficient using MSFT Excel and SQL queries to analyze data particularly in cloud-based environments such as Snowflake.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Familiarity with the media buying process and associated platforms (including ad servers, DSPs, social platforms, media buying, and research)
  • Experience working across various teams as well as the ability to navigate large organizations
  • Ability to engage resources outside of direct-control to achieve objectives
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Must be highly flexible and comfortable working in an agile development environment.
  • Proficiency with a project management tools like Asana, Jira etc.
