The Senior Manager of Pricing & Promotions Data Science will play an impactful role on Petco's mission to improve the lives of pets, pet parents and our own Petco partners. This person will lead a team of data scientists to develop the pricing & promotions algorithms that fuel the next stages of our omni-channel strategy, drive results and win customer trust.

In this role, you will:

• Leverage data analytics to develop insights to drive our pricing strategy and algorithms and evaluate their impact on the performance of the retail business
• dentify business opportunities and mobilize merchandising organizations and senior management to implement new strategies.
• Work closely with our Product and Data Engineering teams to ideate, scope out, and bring to market new algorithms and features.
• Continuously evaluate the performance of our pricing strategy by designing, building and maintaining scalable solutions for monitoring, reporting, and optimizing prices and promotions both online and in-store.
• Write & productionize efficient code, consistently identify opportunities for optimization, detect patterns and outliers, analyze key performance metrics, design and drive experiments via A/B testing and other methods.
• Develop a team of data scientists & economists to develop new algorithms, tools, and production code. You will prioritize sprints, design and execute a multiyear pricing and promotions roadmap.

Education/Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a highly analytical business role, including (but not limited to) consulting, finance, technology, retail or e-commerce; including at least 2 years in a people manager role.
• Expert knowledge of SQL, Python, R or other relational database query languages
• Demonstrated experience operationalizing data science models into production systems
• Advanced knowledge of machine learning, causal inference, statistics, and experimentation design & measurement.
• Bachelor's degree from a rigorous undergraduate program with demonstrated high academic achievement Economics, Statistics, Computer Science preferred; Advanced degree a plus but not required
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple, time-sensitive deliverables and competing priorities Strong communication skills and highly effective in cross-functional environments
