Job Description

The Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health (www.sph.emory.edu/eh) at the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, is continuing a major faculty expansion in a multi-year search. We seek applications from established investigators for positions in both the tenure-track and clinical/research/teaching track with particular emphasis on climate change, environmental justice, environmental epidemiology, planetary health/one health, environmental -omics, implementation science, policy and communication, and data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in environmental health. Candidates for senior positions should have a strong record of scholarship and teaching, a demonstrated ability to secure external funding, and an established, high-impact research program. A doctoral degree and experience in environmental health research are required. Applications from women and historically underrepresented minorities are particularly welcome.

The Department consists of 22 primary faculty, 20 joint faculty, and over 40 adjunct faculty, many affiliated with CDC. The Department has hired 13 faculty in the past several years and has achieved recognition for research programs in WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), climate change, environmental epidemiology, toxicology, exposure science and risk analysis infectious, and environmental-omics. Multiple opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration in environmental health exist with other academic departments and with nearby institutions, including the CDC and Georgia Tech. The Rollins School of Public Health is recognized as one of the nation’s leading public health schools and enrolls over 1000 students in its graduate programs.
