We have big plans in this space and there’s a ton to do - trading card data is multifaceted and pricing is largely driven by secondary market activities that are challenging to coalesce and get insights from. We want to transform the way decisions are made in our organization and across the industry, and data is one of the pillars that will enable us to do that.

Analytics engineers in Data Science & Engineering Team deliver cleaned,well-defined, transformed, enriched, tested, and documented datasets that feed into our dashboard capabilities to provide real-time business intelligence and answer business-critical questions in a timely manner. They need to act with a sense of urgency and have a strong sense of curiosity about how to answer impactful business questions in a consistent and reliable fashion with data, data science techniques, and modern data tools. Analytics engineers possess skillsets that encompass data engineering, data analysis, and business intelligence.

Analytics Engineers’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work closely with business users to produce business-user-friendly dashboards that address critical business needs in a self-serving manner.
  • Support senior management by managing key performance metrics reporting.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses whenever needed.
  • Transform complicated business problems into data-driven solutions by collaborating closely with our data engineers and data scientists.
  • Research, design, and develop new datasets and pipelines by leveraging our data to support business functions through thoughtful data modeling and analysis.
  • Utilize modern, cloud-based data technologies and business intelligence tools to automate and optimize reports.
  • Provide clean, transformed data ready for analyses and dashboarding in a timely manner.
  • Maintain data documentation, definition, and dictionary.
  • Efficiently manage custom-built datasets.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis on a regular basis.
  • Apply software engineering best practices to develop analytical codes.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor degree in computer science, computer engineering, data science, or a highly related field with 3+ years of experience as an analytics engineer or software engineer focusing on building data infrastructure. A graduate degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL skills for querying, analysis, performance optimization and persisting data.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, such as Python.
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent relationship management and the ability to work across business teams and functions.
  • Be well aware of how to adopt software engineering best practices and apply them to analytics code.

$105,000 - $115,000 a year

The salary range for this position is $105,000-$115,000 which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
