OpenX is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer (Data Scientist) to be responsible for designing, executing, and leading critical R&D projects on petabyte-scale datasets. We also seek creative, curious, and tenacious individuals who are capable of employing sophisticated models to solve challenging problems. Where standard linear and logistic regression is expected for rapid prototyping, we further expect solutions to make full use of skills and expertise in cutting-edge applications of Neural Networks, bagged & boosted decision trees, as well as highly customized optimization algorithms. Also of great importance is the ability to interface those models and insights into our ad exchange and related platforms through the use of both off-the-shelf and customized serving and integration platforms.

We're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who:

Can translate requests from business and product into Data Science/ML problems

Has an established track record of formulating novel functional concepts and taking state-of-the-art advances from the literature and incorporating them into production systems

Works well independently and as part of a team of people with diverse backgrounds

Key responsibilites

• Rapidly prototype models, including creation, training, and evaluation to drive business objectives by optimizing aspects of OpenX's programmatic ad exchange to maximize value for our buyers and sellers
• Implement production training and real-time model evaluation architectures in Google Cloud Platform
• Design and execute experiments to assess model performance
• Serve as a consultant for analysts across the organization

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research or related technical field with 4+ years of experience
• Strong Python and SQL (any flavor) skills
• Expertise with machine learning languages and tools such as Tensorflow or PyTorch
• Deep knowledge of machine learning, particularly with Tensorflow, TFX, and Kubeflow

Desired Characteristics

• Experience with cloud platforms, and especially their machine learning functionalities
• Experience reporting findings to a broad audience
• Experience providing mentorship and guidance to more junior employees
• Familiarity with Java or Golang
