Job Description

Tasks

  • As part of our team, you adapt, evaluate and train state-of-the-art foundation models, like CLIP and Stable-Diffusion, in computer vision and related fields. Thereby, you improve existing methods for adapting foundation models, such as prompting and fine-tuning.
  • Furthermore, you explore the advantages of foundation models for continual and active learning, anomaly detection, uncertainty quantification, automated data labeling and customized data generation.
  • You develop methods to create compute-efficient neural networks for Bosch applications based on a foundation model through distillation or other methods.
  • In addition, you conduct in-depth experiments to gain a better understanding of the current limitations of foundation models, you assist the assessment of technological potential and you prepare strategic recommendations for management.
  • You contribute to creating and securing intellectual property in this novel field as well as in top-tier publications.
  • Last but not least, you create clean, efficient, well-tested, and well-documented code to support research efforts.

profile

  • Education: excellent PhD in Deep Learning or Computer Vision with a strong publication record at top AI conferences, such as CVPR, ICLR, NeurIPS, ICCV, or ICML
  • Experience and Knowledge: strong programming skills, particularly in Python, and several years of prior industry experience at a high-tech company, for example in an industrial research environment, as well as expertise in developing and implementing advanced deep learning algorithms, hands-on experience in working with foundation models is beneficial
  • Personality and Working Practice: a highly self-motivated team player who is motivated to work in an international team
  • Enthusiasm: interest in implementing latest research solutions into projects and services
  • Languages: Fluent in English
