Job Description

We are looking for a Data Science Intern to join our dynamic, fast-paced Data Science team. The desire location for this assignment is Herndon VA, but remote work may be considered.

What will you be doing

The primary function of this role is to advance the development of electricity price forecasting methods used in our IntelliBidder product offering. IntelliBidder is a software product used to optimize participation in electricity markets for standalone energy storage systems and renewable plus energy storage systems. The Intern will be an integral part of the Data Science team in a Research and Development role, working to accelerate the development of our software capabilities while supporting new product development initiatives in the field of automated power system optimization.

As a Data Science Intern, you will focus on these responsibilities:

• Clean and manipulate datasets using Python
• Train time series forecast models and evaluate model effectiveness by conducting tests on historical data
• Document model training experiment details and performance

To be successful in this role, we expect you to be/have:

Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field.

• Proficient in Python
• Interested in forecasting problems
• Able to work independently
• Experience with common Python data science libraries
• Experience with time series forecasting
