Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years of experience working with linguistic data for machine learning model training, including generation, annotation, labeling, and/or evaluation.
• 1+ years of experience managing a team working on linguistic and/or machine learning data.
• Experience with business productivity tools like GSuite, Notion, and Slack.
• Proficiency in 2 or more of the following languages: English, German, French, Spanish, and Dutch.
• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to understand and apply detailed editing and data annotation guidelines.
• Ability to pay attention to detail and deliver accurate and precise work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds to lead tasks and projects.
• Ability to work independently, including managing your schedule, attending all required meetings, and completing projects within a deadline.
• 1+ years of experience in hiring for linguistic and/or machine learning data work, particularly with a contingent workforce.
• Programming experience with Python, including familiarity with data structures and text processing in a commercial environment.
• Ability to write and use regular expressions to manipulate data.
• Master’s degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage product linguists embedded within AI research teams that are developing technologies for paraphrasing, grammar checking, summarizing, and assistive writing.
• Advise product linguists on data analysis, manual evaluation, targeted testing, and product considerations.
• Ensure quality and timeliness of task deliveries while managing communication among stakeholders.
• Work cross-functionally with product, design, AI research, and linguistic data teams.
• Work with product and design teams to shape products by providing linguistic context and data considerations.
• Bring product considerations to AI research teams, embedded linguists, and linguistic data team.
• Work with linguistic data team to define and articulate annotation guidelines for product-related projects.
• Monitor and review team member performance and work quality.
• Perform tasks related to data analysis in conjunction with product linguists, which may include annotation, research, testing, and small coding projects.
