Technical Operations AI Lead role at Vancouver, WA, USA office.

We currently have an opportunity for a AI Scientist to join our ground-breaking team in developing tools for the discovery of next-generation protein biologics. The scientist will lead efforts to operationalize AI models and tools for internal and external programs. This role will help lead innovation and operationalize novel technologies while working closely with others on the AI team, Program Managers, Scientists, Strategic Alliance and external pharmaceutical partners. This position can be located at our headquarters in Vancouver, WA, New York city, or Remote

Responsibilities

  • Developing data analysis pipelines for protein sequence and functional data
  • Operationalizing deep learning models for AI-Guided drug discovery
  • Working closely with AI engineers to develop quality code and integrate it into our core platform
  • Work in collaboration with program management to deliver on internal and external programs in milestone-driven schedules
  • Write statement of works and standard operating procedures
  • Prepare progress reports
  • Present technology stack and advancements to internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • PhD in computer science, bioinformatics or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of immunology and antibody engineering
  • 5+ years of industry experience in computational biology, drug discovery, or related field
  • One or more publications in a major machine-learning conference or scientific journal that apply ML to problems in molecular biology, structural biology, or genetics, especially at the intersection of machine learning and proteins.
  • Excellent communication skills, including scientific reporting and presentations.
  • Strong Python programming skills, including with Numpy, Scipy, and Pandas, with emphasis on data science and machine learning applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on projects with multiple contributors.
  • Experience designing and training complex deep learning models in PyTorch, or related platforms

Preferred (but not required):

  • NGS analysis experience
  • Experience with training models on an HPC GPU cluster
  • Software engineering best practices, such as containerizing models and serving through APIs
  • Hands-on experience developing deep generative models for NLP or geometric applications

The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $250,000/year. Competitive equity package applies. Pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to equity, compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
