As a Principal Data Scientist, you will:

  • Utilize statistical learning, and econometric techniques to glean patterns and opportunities in the shopper and consumer landscape;
  • Create targeted audience segmentations; and
  • Use various predictive and explanatory modeling techniques to develop data science prototype models that enhance decision making and brand experience.

This position will work strategically with partners from brand marketing, shopper marketing, media, the commercial organization, market research, and ecommerce to make a meaningful impact on our business. Our department is enabling the future state of marketing at KDP and we need business savvy data scientists to do so.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop at-scale solutions for measurement, digital audience targeting, personalization, hypothesis testing, and optimization that appropriately apply current research, machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and fully-specified econometric modeling
  • Oversee data science projects through the project lifecycle, from scoping through to implementation
  • Applies strategic thinking and the power of advanced analytics to answer tough business questions
  • Interface with decision-makers to identify business decisions that require data-driven approach
  • Scope data science projects to maximize business impact and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to user's satisfaction
  • Navigate many cross-functional stakeholders, and communicates technical results effectively to non-technical audiences
  • Investigate and modify business assumptions
  • Ensure data and code integrity by conducting documentation and code reviews
  • Recruit, guide, coach and train junior analytics team members with the ultimate objective of driving growth through best-in-class Data Science solutions

Requirements

  • MS/PhD. Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related applied quantitative field (Bachelor’s in a highly quantitative/STEM field considered with the right experience)
  • Quantitative MBA candidates will be considered
  • 4+ years hands-on industry (non-academic) experience in Data Science (or equivalent quantitative job title)
  • 3+ years utilizing Python, or R for data science solutions
  • Experience with regularized regression, random forest, boosting methods, and several other statistical/machine learning methods
  • Experience ingesting and manipulating large volumes of data (both tall and wide)
  • Experience with multiple analytical toolsets and evidence of tool agility
  • Proven track record of business integration of Data Science solutions
  • Experience implementing hierarchical Bayesian or other Bayesian models is a plus.
