??The Opportunity

This is a hands-on position with abundant opportunity to work on real-world projects that will amplify the data Denali scientists generate, contributing to defeating neurodegeneration. We are looking for an eager-to-learn candidate to take a main role in developing and extending internal Django applications. Come see how engineering expedites discovery of novel medicines!

An ideal candidate will have interest in learning the scientific rationale behind the tools the Denali Modeling and Informatics team builds and maintains.

Responsibilities:

Discuss code with other Python developers and deliver a robust test suite for committed code while working on one or more of the following:

• Enabling auto-sync of entities across multiple in-house platforms and source-of-truth data warehouse
• Progressing downstream analyses of matched-molecular pair data
• Crafting electrostatic-based similarity searching of molecules
• Embedding auto-updating plots of data trends such as cLogP vs logD
• Developing web-based tracker and designer for sequence libraries

Position requirements:

• Currently pursuing a BS/MS in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, data science, bioinformatics, or computational biology, with a graduation date in early/mid 2024
• Strong Python development skills; familiarity with SQL, JavaScript, and/or jQuery is helpful
• Understanding of cheminformatics tools (eg. RDKit) and organic chemistry concepts is beneficial
• Energetic, results-driven, self-starter with ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
