• JOB TYPE: Freelance, Contract Position (no agencies/C2C - see notes below)
• LOCATION: Remote - Work from anywhere (TimeZone: EST | Partial overlap)
• HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $70 – $90/hr
• ESTIMATED DURATION: 40h/week - Long-term 

THE OPPORTUNITY

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• You must be an engineer who is passionate about machine learning with relevant experience in both researching and implementing recent machine learning models.
• You will be expected to design, test, and implement a variety of machine learning models for structured and unstructured data.
• You will be expected to research and present novel strategies for multi-label text classification with hierarchical labels.
• You will need to contribute domain knowledge to determine the best combination of models to deploy using both theoretical and experimental techniques.
• You will need to be proficient in developing metrics to assess and improve models.
• You should be capable of deploying and scaling models for efficient real-time inference on various size datasets.
• You will be expected to work with existing product and UX teams to improve infrastructure and
• processes, from collecting data to the use of model outputs.
• You should be able to search for and select appropriate data sets before performing data collection and data modeling.

MUST HAVE

Education & Experience: B.S. or higher in Computer Science or a related field with 3+ years of relevant/direct industry experience both in researching and implementing recent machine learning models (with knowledge of the latest advances). Certifications will be considered. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Technical Skills:

• Determine the best machine learning approach to problems from both theory and experimentation
• Understand probability, statistics, linear algebra, and calculus
• Implement recent machine learning models
• Know and keep up with the latest ML and NLP advances
• Familiar with loading and transforming data from databases, including, query and database access tools, etc.

Soft Skills:

• Communicate machine learning ideas and results to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Comfortable championing new ideas with peers, stakeholders, and leadership with a startup mindset
• Balance creativity and focus, knowing when to work with the team and when to embrace your own solution-finding journey
• Empathic and open to feedback
• Proactive and a self-learner

 NICE TO HAVE 

• M.S. or Ph.D. related to machine learning
• Experience deploying machine learning models within enterprise SaaS production environments
• Experience in music/media metadata
• Experience with data deduplication/entity resolution
