Job Description

The Marketplace team is responsible for matching passenger requests with available Chauffeurs. Their areas of responsibility are pricing, dispatching/matching protocols and incentives. Their success criteria are to maximize welfare (i.e. reliability, utilization) and to avoid a known failure mode of ride-hailing marketplaces known as the wild goose chase.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help build statistical, economic and machine learning models for pricing, dispatch/matching and incentives.
• Work with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers and product managers to solve ambiguous problems and implement algorithms in production.
• Research marketplace deficiencies and behaviour.
• Improve metrics dashboards to understand marketplace situation at any given time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in operations research or simulation.
• Experience in marketplace optimisation or strong economic background is a plus.
• PhD or Master's degree in computer science, statistics, or related quantitative fields.
• Proven experience of deploying solutions to production and measuring the impact.
