Position Details:
We are looking for Applied Machine Learning Scientist to join our team of 50+ other Analytics and Data team members who are passionate about applying data and quantitative methods to provide tangible, long-term monetary benefits to our organization. The Applied Machine Learning Scientist will report to a Principal Applied Machine Learning Scientist.
Our Machine Learning area spans across Recommender Systems, Optimization and Simulation, Machine Learning / Deep Learning-based applications and a heavy among of Natural Language Processing. The Applied Machine Learning Scientist is someone with programming experience, applied machine learning experience and engineering skills.
You Will:
- Develop machine learning and deep learning models that improve the effectiveness of our business operations
- Automate work across the organization to improve our speed and efficiency
- Work with the business to understand the problem space, identify the opportunities, and translate our problems into technical solutions using machine learning frameworks
- Research new techniques and technologies in the space of ML / AI, Intelligent automation, NLP and evaluate their potential for specific business use cases
- Build machine learning pipelines from ideation, prototyping, development, and deployment
- Apply techniques such as classification, clustering, regression, NLP, deep learning (CNN, RNN, GANs), time series forecasting, Bayesian methods to build scalable solutions
- Manipulate high-volume, high-dimensionality data from multiple sources, visualize patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends, and perform feature engineering and selection
- Create scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analyses, model development, model validation and deployment
- Create and deploy products, automate and integrate into systems and business processes; develop consumable endpoints (Web Applications, REST APIs)
- Monitor deployed products for continuous improvement (hyperparameter tuning)
You Have:
Required Education/Experience:
- 2+ years of experience using python, pyspark, or Scala (outside coursework)
- BA or MS in a technical field such as Mathematics, Data Science, Applied Analytics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Science or Engineering
- Proficient in usage of databases (e.g. Teradata, Snowflake, s3) and querying languages (e.g. SQL, Spark SQL)
- Advanced programming skills with R, Python, and other Scripting languages
- Experience working in containerization ecosystems (Kubernetes or Docker)
- Advanced data science toolsets (e.g. tensorflow, pytorch, scikit learn)
- Experience developing and employing model risk management strategies (model registry, concept/covariate drift monitoring, Hyperparameter tuning)
- Experience deploying products using technologies like Spark and Airflow
- Experience using advanced computing technologies when needed (e.g. GPUs)
- Follow software engineering practices and use collaboration tools (e.g. Bitbucket, GitHub)
