These new products leverage the legacy experience from decades of delivering smart systems but builds upon that knowledge with multi-disciplinary and cutting-edge technology needed to address today’s challenges.

 Textron is seeking applicants for multiple full-time, principal level engineers and scientists to develop disruptive technologies and deliver high quality designs to the demands of our military customers. These opportunity present concept development and design challenges in energy efficient, high-stress, high-availability systems including a substantial amount of integration with cyber security architectures, communications equipment, developmental test capabilities, and product acceptance equipment.

The candidates should have experience serving as a design engineers and should have strong communications and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with senior management and customer representatives. Candidates should also have experience in the “design/build/test” process.

Qualifications:

  • The candidate should be comfortable as a designer of electrical, software and mechanical systems with integration skills primarily for military applications.
  • Experience developing advanced concept models and prototypes and conducting feasibility testing and proof of concept demonstrations is a plus.
  • Experience interacting with DoD science and technology community is a plus.
  • Experience generating competitive, technical proposals for DoD is a plus.
  • Experience with any of the following technology areas is a plus:
    • Control of dynamic systems
    • Experience with thermodynamics, materials and technologies related to supersonic flight
    • Seismic, acoustic, magnetic, RF and EO/IR sensing algorithms
    • Cybersecurity, mesh networking, satellite communications, radar systems
    • Data sciences, machine learning, AI, swarming systems
    • Mathematical and physics-based modeling and simulation
  • Proficiency with any of the following tools is a plus:
    • Matlab, C/C++, Python, R
    • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.

Education

  • MS or Ph.D. in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related disciplines.

Experience

Ph.D. or MS+3 Years Minimum
