Amadeus has created the Amadeus Hotel Platform (AHP) to provide an integrated Central Reservation System (CRS) and Property Management System (PMS) solution to support large multi-national hotel chains.

Our team is part of the Enterprise Program Delivery department and our role is to manage data population, data management, and migration. Our teams supporting our first CRS customer IHG have developed a robust set of tools and processes to migrate hotels to our CRS and PMS solutions. In order to continue our momentum, we are now focused on expanding the team to build reusable, efficient solutions, as well as support and improve the complex activities that accompany the delivery of the platform.

We are looking for a Data Architect for AHP to help drive repeatable, predictable and safe data migration and set up for our CRS and PMS solutions. As a senior member of the team, you'll be fully in charge of one or multiple complex areas of the team (cross-customer), as well as representing the team in front of one or multiple customers (cross-areas).

In this role you’ll / Your main responsibilities

Lead a functional area:

• Collect, formalize and prioritize data setup requirements (both customer and internal ones)
• Represent our team within large complex programs, handle risks and escalations both internally and with customer
• Supervise and coach junior resources of the team
• Track data for KPIs to measure team effort, and contribute to resource capacity planning

Lead complex designs

• Supervise cross-functional teams to design, test and deploy data architecture and solutions
• Build governance model regarding data ownership, data access and data change lifecycle
• Popularize complex customer and data migration challenges to the broader R&D teams

Be hands-on

• Design, test and maintain scripts for data population and migration, using Python
• Carry out tasks related to user provisioning and product initial setup
• Assist with the technical and functional knowledge transfer to customers, partners, and internal support teams

Your first topic

• Your first mission will be to focus on our capture/restore capability: injecting Production data in test systems, in a cross-functional environment (interacting with multiple components) on a distributed system (interacting with different clouds or data centers) using different storage technologies (Oracle, couchbase).
• From our current baseline, you'll need to assess possible current design/procedures flaws, propose changes, influence/build a business case to justify the changes.
• This will require collaboration with 30+ development teams, devops team, support team, QA teams, while making sure customers functional requirements are still fulfilled.
• You will own the overall backlog and roadmap of that area, organize the workload of the team regarding execution of the process itself, measure KPIs to assess improvements, and be the ultimate point of contact in case of complex issues troubleshooting.

About the ideal candidate

• Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering or computer science) or equivalent work experience
• 5-10 years of experience in IT Domain overall
• Experience in technical development and scripting
• Experience with SDLC and continuous delivery
• Experience with User Access Management
• SQL, JSON, XML, at least one programming language, Git or similar version control system
