As a Senior Analytical Consultant, you serve as the primary analytical resource aligned to business users and leadership for a group of customers.You will leverage your experience with the C.H. Robinson Data Asset, our Product ecosystem, best in class operations practices, pricing & commercial strategies, analytical tools, and corporate initiatives to represent our vast ecosystem of assets to identify the intersection between account management strategies, analytics, and our customers initiatives.You will develop and manage advanced analytical projects from start to finish with a close connection to business users (customer and internal) from the desk level to senior leadership.You are responsible for prioritizing other analysts’ work alongside guiding their development.Awareness of priorities and dependencies is critical to this role as C.H. Robinson creates products that will improve the customer experience through our Information Advantage.

Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

Product Marketing

  • Assists with or oversees product development and ensures other dependent product teams and leaders are aware of progress and performance
  • Prioritizes enhancement requests through contact with business stakeholders
  • Markets and drives utilization of analytical tools
  • Represents product performance and impact to relevant leadership
  • Acts as a front-line liaison between customers, account teams, and data science for all Labs engagements
  • Provides in-person sales support to new and existing customer opportunities
  • Owns the feedback loop which provides “voice of customer” to product engineering leads and teams

Outreach/Network connectivity

  • Represents analytics for a division of the company and understands how it ties into company strategy and initiatives
  • Participates, supports, and drives discussion in senior leadership forums
  • Networks by building relationships and consulting to bring solutions to life
  • Collaborates with internal analytical teams to develop predictive solutions in tandem
  • Mentors and guides analytical consultants
  • Connects with strategy team to understand and represent progress to strategic initiatives
  • Engages externally with Medium and Large customers and in industry forums

Analysis

  • Compiles, oversees development, and delivers analytical insight to senior leadership 
  • Proactively identifies opportunities and professionally shares insights with leaders
  • Extracts and interprets data to answer ambiguous questions while working directly with personnel across the network
  • Determines reporting and additional analysis to support initiatives and measurement
  • Incorporates statistical modeling in analysis through collaboration with data science

Reporting

  • Prioritizes analytical needs for a division of the company
  • Can make decisions and provide guidance on defining metrics
  • Understands data structures and guides the implementation of additional data points into data domains
  • Understands existing reports and develops additional custom reports using business knowledge
  • Identifies external data to incorporate into data estate
  • Influences other reports being built, may be a SME to help guide new report creation

Required Qualifications:

  • 4 or more years of previous experience developing business solutions using comprehensive, robust data assets
  • 4 or more years of previous experience in business development/sales in a customer facing role, preferably in the Logistics Industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft analytical tool set including Excel, and Power BI
  • Expert in C.H. Robinson’s proprietary analytics platform, Navisphere Analytics
  • Expert in C.H. Robinson’s Platform Navisphere
  • Strong understanding of C.H. Robinson’s business processes and systems
  • Comfortable presenting findings to internal and external senior leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a high school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree related to analytics or supply chain
  • Advanced proficiency with T-SQL, Power BI, Excel
  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of a programming language such as Python and/or R
  • Experience creating web visualizations using open source software (R Shiny/Plotly Dash)
  • Experience leveraging statistical methodologies to deliver actionable insights (regression analysis, clustering and/or tree models)
  • Experience with NoSQL solutions such as Hadoop (Hive)
  • Experience using advanced third-party BI tools (Qlikview, Tableau) a plus
  • Organized individual with strong self and project management disciplines, including the ability to lead, facilitate, and influence
  • Comfortable working autonomously, but willingly seeks guidance
  • Creates comfortable, open-minded conversations with those who seek information, guidance or analytical collaboration
  • Comfortable leading analytics focused discussions with senior leadership
  • Effective communicator and data/reporting/business liaison through multiple mediums
  • A willing teacher/mentor who also responds positively to feedback from leaders and colleagues
  • Experience working with product teams in an iterative environment
  • Works well with remote teams
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
