KPMG is currently seeking a Director to join our Federal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Support leadership in taking lead on developing technical contents such as business development documents, white papers, technical responses, and provide proficient documentation / operating guidance for clients & users of all levels
  • Collaborate with KPMG or client teams in designing and developing technical architectures / best practices required as part of KPMG technical responses to government RFPs and RFIs including: detailed methodologies / roadmaps for cloud migration & integration (including requirements analysis, designed cloud / on premise / hybrid reference architectures, change management, training, talent acquisition, use case selection and technology adoption)
  • Lead multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, workshops, innovation sessions with clients (to identify business opportunities and design, develop / optimize architectures to tackle Big Data and Data Science needs for federal and local government agencies)
  • Utilize best practices to plan, lead, and execute delivery of big data / data analytics engagements
  • Leverage a variety of modern big data tools and approaches to solve complex business objectives, develop and constantly update big data platform requirements to assess the current state of KPMG's federal and state client data platforms (identify gaps in technologies, processes, and provide technical recommendations on platform modernization / cloud migration & integration)
  • Design tools and services useful in cloud DevOps environment such as performance monitoring, security monitoring, deployment/configuration, continuous integration/build servers, and cloud resource creation scripts
  • Help drive the process of pursuing innovation, target solutions, and extendable platforms; participate in developing / presenting though leadership 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight years of Big Data Engineering experience (with large-scale big data technologies such as: MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala, Kafka, Storm, and equivalent cloud-native services)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Masters of PhD from an accredited college/university preferred
  • Experience developing on-prem/cloud data reference architectures / benchmarks, designing and writing business proposals and technical solutions
  • Fluency in one or multiple programming languages such as: Python, Scala, Java with ability to pick up new languages / technologies quickly
  • Extensive experience in leading full stack software development teams, and deep understanding of technical requirements of software development life cycle
  • Hands-on experience with cloud services and tools required for designing cloud architectures / implementing production infrastructures and applications in one or more of the following cloud environments / technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP 
  • Experience in developing data & analytics platforms / applications on cloud and experience with cloud native container technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker (experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet is preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present complex information concisely through written & verbal communication; experience hosting interviews, brainstorms / workshops with business teams and executives on data-related topics / projects
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal government security clearance within a reasonable period of time, which requires U.S. citizenship
