About the role:

Lead Instructors play a key role in driving elements of Correlation One’s multiple training programs. They will train Fellows in Correlation One’s programs and work with company operations personnel to drive exceptional learning outcomes. Their main focus as educators will be in larger format lectures, training anywhere from 20 to 2,000 Fellows, live, depending on the program.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent educator with superior communication skills and a good sense for improving the Fellow experience. This person is a quick learner and diligent with their work. Candidates with demonstrated records in education and training, including successful tenures with other educational institutions or training programs, are preferred. Advanced credentials from top educational institutions are also preferred.

Correlation One’s training programs are best-in-class, with teaching staff hailing from some of the world’s best institutions, like MIT and Stanford University. Our programs are also unique because we build them for practical impact; while we love teaching theory behind data, we also orient training to real outcomes, using hands-on training content and the case method.

The majority of our programs are free for trainees, sponsored by our Corporate or public sector partners. This model draws in learners who are both extremely talented and passionate to improve. Our programs are virtual and synchronous for the indefinite future. Live teaching takes place almost exclusively on Saturdays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the instruction of a “virtual classroom” within a larger program; these typically consist of between 200-5000 Fellows (though potentially many more, depending on the program); instruction purview includes:
  • Train Fellows in key concepts related to data & analytics, or data science (depending on the program, these can span from advanced Excel to concepts in Machine Learning. Note: we place instructors in roles according to their skills and interests!)
  • In some cases, Instructors can create case work and curriculum, when interested and for additional compensation
  • Collaborate with Correlation One operations personnel to perform class duties well and stay on schedule
  • For some programs, we request instructors also contribute to classes during weekdays

Some skills we consider critical to the role:

  • An excellent educator with a passion for teaching and helping others
  • Degree in a data science related field and / or industry experience in a data science related role; post-graduate and research work at top institutions are also strong pluses

    About the role:

    The Program Manager will play a key role in managing Correlation One’s live, online training programs. This person will work with the operations and curriculum team, and contracted instructors and TAs, to ensure high-function in one of our data/digital skills training programs.

    The ideal candidate will be an excellent project and program manager, able to execute on competing deadlines and tasks involving multiple stakeholders. The role will demand a Manager keep tabs on learners’ progress and status in the course, provide support for instructors and other contractors, and work closely with Correlation One operations and curriculum colleagues. The Program Manager will need to run the application and setup of a course, including multiple software programs that record and measure applicant submissions. Further, the Program Manager will manage a roughly 16-week live, online training program, ensuring learners, teachers, and other stakeholders engage and benefit from the program. This person is a quick learner and diligent with their work. They will have an interest in changing lives through education and a desire to work on larger and larger programs as we continue to scale our training.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Manage the launch of Correlation One training programs, using our launch “playbook”; this includes applicant filtering and communication, hiring contracted instructors, setting up class technologies with input from teammates
    • Run stellar training programs, including by making sure personnel are operating well and course technology is working. [Note: since we cater to adult learners, this work may have to happen for half-days on some Saturdays. We offer PTO matching for any weekend work you may do.]
    • Create a friendly, professional learning environment by troubleshooting learner needs
    • Collaborate with internal team and develop insights about class function to the wider operations, strategy, and curriculum teams, leading as we continue to scale

    Some skills we consider critical to the role:

    • Minimum 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
    • Solid professional experience, ideally in project or program management, including in other educational or training institutions
    • Experience managing cross-functional, high-impact projects with multiple stakeholders
    • Strong, executive-ready written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Familiarity with Google Suite and MS Office Suite, especially Powerpoint and Excel
    • Familiarity with Slack and Zoom
    • Strong work ethic, ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
    • Proactive approach, high attention to detail, and a quick learner
    • Passionate about educational outcomes and the success of both learners and staff
