We are currently looking for a Full-Stack Engineer who can help lead the technical execution of Terminal, the world’s most prestigious coding competition for university students. This position will include a 12-week contract and have flexible working hours for the week.

Our clients include over 50 blue-chip companies, such as Amazon, Citadel, Accenture, Target, EY, BlackRock, and Johnson & Johnson. These organizations work with us to train their own employees, recruit program graduates, and proactively invest in talent from traditionally underrepresented communities.

About this role

We’re searching for a software engineer who is excited to create software in a collaborative, decentralized environment and help us improve Terminal. Launched in 2018, Terminal is a competition series for engineers to code AI strategies and automate decision logic in an online video game. The C1 Games Engineer will play a key role in supporting the technical operations, maintenance, and evolution of Terminal and our virtual competitions around the world. They will work closely with our Engineering and Business Operations team to make sure that we provide a great experience for our competition participants, some of the best quantitative minds around the world.

The C1 Games Engineer will be responsible for the technical execution of Terminal in order to create engaging events in partnership with our industry-leader partners. A successful candidate will have experience in web development and Python programming and will work closely with the business team to ensure our competitions align with the company’s vision

Tech stack

We use React on the frontend, with a mixture of react-query in some products and react context in others. We're currently evaluating standardizing across products with a global state management library.

Python serves our backend, some products are built with Flask and sqlalchemy and some are Django with Django Rest Framework. Postgres is our database.

Our software is hosted on Google Cloud Platform, running Docker & Kubernetes.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage technical components of Terminal events, including running the competitions, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining the competition database.
• Managing and maintaining the codebase, developing feature enhancements to the platform as needed. 
• Helping the team present the award winners in a live broadcast, where the competition winners will be announced to our competition participants.
• Attend internal meetings with the Correlation One team to plan and prepare for upcoming competition events.
• Address and troubleshoot any technical issues arising from competition participants.
• Stay up-to-date with new products/services and competitors.

Preferred Qualifications
